From Pc world mag,Thay reviewed the 2 gig and the 1.4,,Results are ___________________

"The 2 gig P-4 was more evenly matched by AMD's 1.4 athlon. The 2 p-4 systems scored a 229 on the Pc world bench mark ratings for overall speed,THE AVERAGE SCORE OF THE 1.4 AMD BASED ON 5 DIFFERENT SYSTEM MAKERS IS 239 !!!!!

That puts Amd and the P-4 2 Gig in a dead heat and this is the first time a P-4 system running Win 2000 has cought up to AMD's High end ATHLON's.

I know Pc world is not the place for a perfect match up but I have read this mag a long time and if nothing else thay are as fair as any one who lives in a dominated INTELL,,And windows world ..LOL

check the review on tomshardware i think that bench is more accurate (allthough i could be mistaken) but in that review you'll see that the difference is almost nothing ...

But these benchmarks are made with the TBirds if I am not wrong. Let's wait a bit and see some benches with the Palomino athlons (maybe the ones at 1.53 or 1.6 GHz when it comes out !)

Look rember tomshardware they made a power box back in february 1.2ghz athlon at 1.6ghz maby they should strap in a new stepping 1.4ghz and see if they can get 1.7 -1.8ghz then its realy pushing tbird to the limit and what it can do vs the 1.8ghz p4 and 2ghz p4 and an overclocked 2.2ghz p4 and show up on how much power tbird core still has left in it......i personaly believe the core can get 1.6ghz befour a new stepping is required but i think 2ghz is possible out of the tbird core and thats probly around its max....but we keep seeing this stuff that 2ghzp4 is beating 1.4ghz athlon in allmost everthign lets see some more power like 1.7ghz and see what intel is up too befour it can reach the power of ALL MIGHTY ATHLON... gota love it with the dirt cheep pricicing also....i am personly going to pick up those 5 letter coded 1.0ghz cpus i hear they can go up to 1.65~1.78 forsure then get myself a SMP system with some overclocked athlons :):):)

The benchmarks are at least closer than the price now.
I would still have to sell my home to pay for the Intel 2.0, still overpriced under performing CPU's imho
