i heard nero and nforce boards don't mix very well, and i had 5 failed burnings out of my last 7 cds burnt... don't think it is my hardware tho, i have a sony 40x/32x
well maybe you need to upgrade to latest version of Nero, I have an nforce2 board and I have never had any problems burning cd's or dvd's.
Otherwise, Alcohol is another very good alternative.

You need to uninstall the Nvidia SW drivers. If you don't uninstall them, you'll have problems no matter what app you use.

Roxio Easy CD Creator 5 is one of the most popular (and solid) alternatives to Nero. I cannot speak from alot of experience since before I went pure Linux I always used Nero on my rigs. But where I work they use Roxio, and the few times I've had to use it, the burns have all gone well. (Well, except for one, but I think that was a problem with the .iso image and not the software)

I've usedCDburner XP Pro (http://www.cdburnerxp.se/) and it works fine. best of all its free. Also used to use one called burn4free which did the job also...Looks as if burn4free now includes a stupid search toolbar with it so I would stear clear of that one.....but cdburnerxp is fine..
