W2K has a tendency of shutting down other apps at will...
always same message :
'This program has created errors and will be shut down''
Does it with all apps, and completely random it seems...even with windows explorer.
So is W2K jealous, does it want more attention? how do I find out what is bugging it?

Do you have Norton CleanSweep installed?

Yes, I do actually...but...I installed it after this problem started...

I found this article in the MSKB which refers to CleanSweep and the problems it causes with W2K ( the same sort of error messages you're receiving)...
http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/Q255/7/58.ASP?
...there might be something in the article that can help you out, but since the error messages were occuring before you installed CleanSweep...you might do a search in the KB while you're there; there might be some other articles pertaining to that error message.

It says that this might occur if you did an UPGRADE to w@k, with cleansweep installed on the old os.. I did a clean install (format c:.) and installed cleansweep afterwards... but I'll uninstall it for a week or so and see if it makes a difference, can't hurt to try.
Thanks

In win98 instead of 'This program has created errors and will be shut down'' Your computer would just lockup and you would have to reboot. When it happens note the time and look in the event viewer their may be info there to help you run down the problem.
