so i just modded my 9800pro 128mb into an xt, i must say it was not hard, I have been scoring about 6000 on 3dmark03 now I'm getting 6224. But this is before overclocking it at all, i cant wait to see what this thing is cabable of, if you have the card and are thinking about doing i suggest you do, once you get the new heatsink on its easy from there
yep it is fairly simple. now see how far you can push that baby and keep us updated.

so far im stable at 432mhz gpu and 375mhz memory, I went from about 6000 on 3dmark03 with overclocked cpu and 9800pro to 6400 with overclocked radeon9800xt and unoverclocked cpu, just wondering though, Im not seeing the overdrive tab anywhere even after i have latest drivers, any ideas?
overdrive and the temperature probe are features only available if you have the XT pcb along with the r360 core. Otherwise you don't get this funcationalities with a plain 9800pro pcb (which is what I have too  )

It also depends on the bios you have..... the only non-hacked bios that supports the overdrive function is the GeCube hynix 128mb bios..... Sapphire has one too but no one has posted it yet....

is it possible to flash to the other hynix bios youre talking about from these?
oh yeah almost forgot, im still stable at 441mhz core and 380mhz memory with 6400 on 3dmark03 , anyone else have a soft modded radeon with a thermaltake giant 3 that might have an idea how far i can push it?

is there a way i can tell what pcb i have, and btw sorta noob question what is the pcb? im not sure
The PCB stands for Printed Circuit Board and it's the main board that everything is soldered onto.
I would do a search on the forum to know whether you have the 9800xt pcb. I think one difference is the heatsink. The r350 cores have the parallogram heatsinks while the r360 cores have the squarish heatsinks.

as stated before.... if you have the xt pcb you gotta use the GeCube bios to get the overdrive function.
