Hello to all!!
Well I need to put a second system together for my wife, she will use it to surf and use photoshop/digital photography.
I have an Abit BE6-II version 1.0 mobo , 1 - 128 , 1-256 Infenion pc133 ram.
I need suggestions on a decent video card, celly or p3 slot one processor I"m thinking celly 700 that is cheap and can do the photoshop work. Plan to add a 10-20 gig 7200 rpm drive, cdrom and burner, will also take advice on a good brand 8x burner that is cheap new.
thanks for the help

Sounds like a job for a Geforce 2 MX soft hacked to a Quadro.
Unfortunately I don't have one laying around. They're cheap though, when enthusiasts start getting GF3MX's they'll be everywhere.

If you're only doing 2d/photography, a gaming card won't provide the best image quality in 2d. I suggest a cheaper ATI card or Matrox.

so best thoughts on a good 2d card, I was thinking something by ati, would anything less tan 32 be good enough, I do not know enough about this......
cisco, the wine is doing its work..........
For all intensive purposes, 16MB ATI card should be fine, but Matrox is best in 2D/video apps.
If you aren't gaming at all, onboard vid memory is not important. It's mostly used for storage of OpenGL, D3D textures although it has some bearing on max resoltuion at color depth X. If you wanna save some cash go for an old Matrox, like a G100 or 200.
But pretty much any semi-modern card can do 2D work just fine. Just make sure to get one with a RAMDAC strong enough to do the resolution you need. 300mhz or higher, most likely.
