Currently, i have p4 1.3gig and shuttle intel p4 mobo, and my hands really desire to o/c it..........does anybody can give me information about this......? but i've heard someone said that my mobo is unoverclockable......is it true.....? n does anybody have tried it before.......?

if my mobo really overclockable, can i run at 1.5 gig or higher.....? don't worry, i'll purchase water cooling system to support this....

Thanx alot.........

Abit, Asus, MSI and Gigabyte are the only companies I've heard of with overclock capable p4 boards. What is the number of your board?

Shuttle AT30 for P4

Haven't given up on you. I'm researching your board. Stay tuned.

I looked online for about 30 minutes for info on that board also and couldn't find out what the front side bus options were. Anyways to get to 1.5 with that chip with very good cooling and with a board that supports 115 mhz front side bus will give you your 1.5 ghz. Maybe 1.6 if you had water/peltier setup.

oh....thanx for your goodness......
i hope u can give me the answer as soon as possible.....coz i can't stand my hands to overclock it.......but i do only have a little experience on this issue......hope u can help me....or anybody else can give me a hand.....?

yeah....i think so.....i'll buy a good water cooling system if mine is clockable. i like that stuff so much.......

Not sure about that motherboard, but I bet your cpu would get to at least 1.5, depending on the quality of your board (and provided you can raise the FSB of course)

i've gone to the store where i bought mine and asked them about my mobo.....they said mine is intel850 socket 423

i never tried this but is it possible to track down the specs on the ICS or WInbond chip to see what fsb speeds it can do?

All my attempts have come up negative. The only thing close to that board that i've seen is AT31 and in a whole bunch of board information nowhere does it even suggest that the frontside bus is adjustable. Using the logic that a normal site would not suggest overclocking I checked some of the review site like www.arstechnica.com and out of many Shuttle boards reviewed the AT30 was not one of them. This suggests to me that there is no attraction to this product either because if does overclock it doesn't do it well or it isn't overclockable period. Sorry for the bad info but thats the best I can do. This does not mean however that you can't overclock the chip. As TC implied the chip is a P4 Willamette with a low multiplier. Assuming that all 1.3's were not labeled that low because of failure at a higher clock (this product is fairly new and yields questionable),yours should most certainly overclock to some degree (intel always leaves a little overclocking goodness in any chip). Having the FSB to pull it out is the problem. All of that said to overclock you may have to invest in another motherboard. If your system is proprietary then even going that route my be a problem. This could be a very expensive question to answer. The CPU database shows no positive results overclocking the P4 1.3. You are definitely pioneering.

oh....shiiieeeeetttt.....wtf
how come my mobo doesn't exist in shuttle directory. i m pretty sure that mine is AT30 not AT31. or may be it's a New Zealand spec. oh...i'll go to the store again.

btw, thanx for your concern.:)

I really doubt your motherboard will allow overclocking. Not very many adjustable P-4 motherboards available. If you truly want to overclock it, you'll need a different motherboard. I have heard that with Abit or Asus motherboards that 1.7 gig is not impossible with many of the 1.3 gig CPUs, assuming you have exceptional cooling. Trouble is, the Willimette P-4 is already nearly obsolete with no upgrade path as soon as the Northwood P-4 CPUs arrive in a few months. The new P-4 will require a completely different motherboard too. Friends should not let friends buy non-adjustable FSB motherboards. It's sad, very sad.
