I start to get artifacts after 6 minutes @ 260fsb. My comp is stable at 230fsb, but im pushing the vcore to 1.70v. What is the cause of the artifacts? My motherboard, cpu, video card, ram? My system is listed in my info.

Artifacts:
By artifacts, my monitor has random patterns, my keyboard still works, my mouse moves the artifacts. I can also IM people in AIM because i was able to type, press enter, and i heard that famous sound :|.

Is your AGP/PCI ratio locked to 66.66/33.33? If not, you're probably overclocking your AGP port and that's why you're getting artifacts.

its Fixed 66:33 or vice versa. When i was ocing, i had 2 12 inch fan blowing inside the case, so mosfets were 44c, northbridge 28, cpu 37 watercooling.

Hi Billam,

The artifacting problem is a 865PE chipset problem. Some ram makes this worse than others exspecially on the AI7. Just to test try the 5:4 ratio at 260 and I am pretty sure the artifacting will go away.

I have to use the 5:4 divider on my 865pe chipset but it underclocks my ram alot.

Most definantly the chipset if the ram is run 1:1. There is no solution. I had the same problem with my Is7-E.

Only solution is go to a 875 chipset.

Is this with all 865PE's or just some specific boards? That's an interesting problem, I don't think that I've heard about it before.

865PE in general. Happens on any board.

Not sure why it won't let you boot windows with 5:4. Are the GAT settings all on auto?

Do you overclock your Video Card too? If you oc your video card then thats where the artifacts come from.
