What would be the highest CPU temp before you start to see a significant drop in performance?

Well not really a drop in performance, but the ability to post into Windows would be a better way to describe too much heat. I would be VERY scared of ANY temp (Idle or load) that reaches above 60c. It is ideal for load temps to not get above 50c. Forget Idle temps, load is what you wanna watch for.

My MB is holding at 35°C and my CPU at 53°C
I was having a bit of trouble booting windows but I think it was just a conflict with my bios and my video card cause I flashed in an update and it's booting ok now

53c Idle is too hot, what have you done to cool things off?

if at normal use like surfing the internet and listening to MP3's, is that load or idle? mine with a swiftech MC462 HSF and 1.4 @ 1.518 GHz is at 53C which the MoBo Temp. is at 40C now. is that okay. my casing is close and the room temp now is around 33 - 35C.

I just bought it 2 days ago and it came with a Tornado II
I've read since that it really isn't good enough to handle the 1.4's without the delta 3800
What would be the best heatsink for me to get?

i'm also using the 1.4GHz CPU clocked to 1.518 GHZ with a Swiftech MC462 - A heatsink. i think if u have the extra cash u should invest in this heatsink cause it's good. ofcourse that is what i've heard though i'm not getting the result i am expecting. currently getting a temp. of 55*C at full load. pretty hot for something so huge.........i really mean HUGE.
