Hi guys! I am currently creating/improving upon a sticky in the General CPU's section. Here is the link: http://www.ocforums.com/showthread.php?t=329015

What I need to know is what Socket 370/478/775 CPU's cannot read the CPU core temperature. Usually you will see a CPU core temperature in the BIOS, a system temperature/case temp, and the socket temp.

Can anyone post any info on the oldest CPU's they know that have a CPU core diode? For example, something like "Only P4 willamettes and newer have this except...blahblahblah" etc.

Don't worry about the motherboards I already asked in the motherboards section. Just the CPU's im worried about here.

If anyone can be of any help, I will mention your name in the area where I am giving credit. Thanks guys.

It is a sticky :D It was a sticky before I even started adding info to it...oh well..the mod must have been drunk :D j/k

Well, anyone know if any pentium 3's have diodes? Or should I not even bother with that?

Do willamettes even have diodes?

All P4s and every P3 made for S370 have on-die thermal diodes. I'm not certain about the slot P3s. Of course, whether or not every motherboard for those processors can correctly read the diode is another matter.
