my firend told me that for £200 u can get a bfg 6800 none-pro and softmod it to a 6800u, when i wasnted to get a ati 9800pro... is this true? and also is the 6800np better then the 9800pro at stock speeds? thanks in advaced, bye.
The 6800NU is better than the 9800pro at stock. As far as opening the 4 pipes on the GPU, the current rivatuner has a very low success rate at opening them. There is a new one in testing right now from what I have read that has a very good success rate at opening the 4 closed pipes and the 6th vertex pipe as well. You will never be able to make the NU into an ultra however. The NU uses GDDR1 where the GT and ultra use GDDR3. You will be able to change the bios and up the voltage to 1.4 and get more speed out of it. I am waiting for the new RT to unlock mine.

what barand of the 6800nu is the best to go for do u think? also is the £50 more worth it for the 6800u? as the 9800pro is £150 and 6800u is £200!!

The extra 50 is definatly worth it.
As for wich brand, it doesn't really matter as long as you get a good bundle.
If your not going to change the cooling yourself the leadtek has a nick big copper cooler.

hmm, ye i think i will prob get the leadtech one then, so would the stock cooler be enough for OC? is that the one u got? cheers!!
I have one of the first chaintech NU's out which for whatever reason came with a solid copper HS. I use water cooling now, but if I was going to keep stock cooling I would have gone with the leadtek.
