how to replace a floppy with flash drive

how do i replace my floppy with a usb flash drive with xp pro??

That would require switching the drive letter of the usb to be A: or B: and those are reserved, so unless you can come up with some kind of usb-ide adaptor or hack windows into letting you usa a: or b:, then it's not gonna happen.

I think it would be great to be able to boot from a flash disk. Any inventors out there?

No need to invent anything, most new motherboards allow this

that is what i mean, use the flash drive as the floppy, so i can get rid of my floppy

Just check the cmos and see if you can set it as a boot device.

What I wish to do is to use the flash drive as an XP install disk. . .sort of like replacing the CD with a flash drive. . YES my mo board supports booting from a flash BUT I cant get it to boot into the XP setup. The flash drivce is seen correctly as a removable hard drive in the BIOS. Anyone know how???
