Okay...what the heck am I missing? I just bought a new NetGear FA311 10/100 NIC and I cannot get this yucky (for lack of a more descriptive term) thing to work in any of my boxes.
Anyone else had problems with these NICS? I tried downloading the latest drivers but I'm still getting nothing. I have a 4 port hub and a cable modem and all my other boxes are fine.
Tried releasing and renewing IP's... nothing. I'm ready to return this thing if someone can't help me out...what is it with Netgear?

I use NetGear FA311 10/100 NIC's in all my PC's and do not have any problems with them what so ever (so long as you use the drivers from the disk that they come with)
Some people say that they don't like high FSB although I can not comfirm this as mine is not exceptionally high

I have 2 FA 311s and can't get them to work for the life of my machines They are garbage Netgear lost a customer with me that's for sure and there tech support is awful all the guy did was argue with me and say that the card is good to change IRQ settings these things won't even let my machine post when i put them in all i get is a black screen. I put a Lynksys and my machine is trouble free with it.

Okay...first..thanks for the tips all. Second..the problem was RoadRunner and the limit of 3 DHCP address' per modem. So...did I give up...heck no.
I installed a second nic in one of my Duron boxes and got ICS (Internet Connection Sharing) up and running...Now all my boxes are happily accessing the internet!! :) Thanks again everyone!
Just gotta keep an eye on ZAlarm now...you have to turn the internet security level down to "medium" to use ICS.
