tomorrow im planning on buying or ordering a new heatsink fan ... what should i buy? i heard the FOP is very good but i also heard the glaciator is nice ... but im not willing to pay a fortune for it like the silverado noise control ...
the hsf is for my duron 750 on my kt7e

I use a FOP32 with a YS-Tech fan on my overclocked Duron 800 and consider this to be a good performer when considering the price, it certainly keeps my Duron well under 50c on load

Yeah, a Fop32-1 should be fine for you, its is like a FOP32 just a bit quieter I think. But be sure not to get anything over a FOP32, because anything over that woul be overkill. Unless of corse you plan on OCing it.

the fop is getting a bit old now, I would really recomend a copper heatsink, either the sk6 or glaciator would be a good choice, the sk6 having the best performance and the glaciator coming very close but being quieter. If you really want an aluminium heatsink then I would say the thermoengine is a good choice.

phil ... so you are suggesting a glaciator for my OCed duron ... how much will that cost me?
thx for the repsond people

depends on whether or not you know of any online stores situated in your country, if not your best bet is from overclock.co.uk (http://www.overclock.co.uk) which would be about £50($70-80us) including shipping

wauw that is a bit too expensive ... just think about it if i pay 50$ for a cooler i can as well pay 20$ more and have a athlon 1gig
so now i was thinking about buying a hsf that costs 20-30$ but nothing more ... what is the best one at this price?

I know it is quite pricey, especially when it only costs half as much in the US. A low priced but good performer is the Taisol cgk 760, I would recomend using an 80mm fan on this as it is 60x80mm so you should get about 3/4 of the airflow on it.

can you give me the link on overclock.co.uk

and what about the fop38 ... its cheap and i think itll cool great ... the only prob is the noise i guess :(

ok i found it: ThermalTake Volcano 6 Cu
i can buy this hsf for about 15$ i think this is real cheap and i dont need more for my duron 750

the fop 38 is the same as the 32 but with a delta, it performs ok but only because of the delta fan. The volcano you mentioned is a reasonable cooler, do you plan on overclocking though?

yes i want to go to 900 maybe 1000 with my duron 750

I would think it would be good enough to achieve up to 1ghz, as long as you have a few case fans as well.

yes im planning on putting another two case fans
2 suckholes ... 1 in the front, 1 in the back 1 blowhole at the top
i think that would be enough to keep the entire thing cold
