That's no deal. Between CompUSA, CC, BB, and your local Walmart and competitors, this price can be had at least every other week.
Unfortunately, the good deals aren't as common as they were last year. I miss the $2.99 50 packs. =(
If you are tired of shopping, I'm sure these are some of the best around:

They're TY's (Taiyo Yuden). I stocked up on Fuji TY's about a year ago back when they were cheap and have about 25 left. Unfortunately, Fuji no longer is guaranteed to use TY's.
Thay also have a 100 cd spindle of Ritek 700mb's for less than $20 shipped. I've never used them, but have heard good things about their dvd media.

fry's had a 50pack 52x cd-r for 1.50 only. now they bumped it up to 4.50 which is still good. its only on days that they advertise it in the paper tho. Brand is GQ.

few weeks ago I bought 100 pack of sony cd-rs for 20 bux..not a bad deal really..last time I bought 50 pack cd-rs for 5 bux and they all sucked, can't read data and music skips on every single disc so now I decide to go for quaility brands.

Circuit City is having a special on Audiobahn discs this week. Two fifty packs for $13.99. Same CMC discs everyone but Fuji's using these days, and I haven't had any problems using them at work.

So now even the "Made in Japan" Fuji discs may not be TY? Darn, right when I'm starting to run out, should have bought more earlier. :-/
Best Buy has 100 for $20 (no MIR) this week. They're TDK's, and are rated at 48x. Lemme tell ya though, there's pretty much no difference between 48x and 52x in burn speed. Also, I've had several media that are rated at 48x work just fine at 52x.

If you check staples the often have sals on HP 50 and 100 pack cd-rs. Ussually its like $7.95 for a 50 and $15.00 for the 100. My experinces is they are great cd-Rs the only time I haven't had a great burn with them is in an old IBM laptop(they worked fine in the other laptop I had there) becuase it didn't recognize 2 of the 3 I had.
Thats my thought on a good deal for good cd-Rs
PS I believe they are only 48x speed though but like cursor said its only a few seconds difference.
