so i was looking around the task manager's options, and found that i could get a listing of the total number of 'page faults' for each process in the 'Processes' tab, and im getting some pretty big numbers, wmplayer.exe- 905,000 and counting, firefox.exe- 820,683 and counting, explorer.exe- 199,660 and counting...what does this mean? and is that normal?

Yes, it's normal...Page faults are a normal and expected part of the operation of Windows. It's invalid Page faults that you would need to be concerned with...these are errors, and produce error messages (not because they're Page faults, but because they're invalid). Every time there is 'fresh first access' to a page in virtual memory, that may have been moved in RAM...a Page fault is created.
