WU trouble

Anyone haveing trouble getting and sending WU's??
It seems to be going very slow to non-existant, but Seti says there is nothing wrong

Im 1 or 2 every 30 min or so..Im basically caught up at this point...I checked the seti site and they say there is nothing wrong.

Sporadically, it's been sending the results, but not getting a new wu right away.

All of my PC's SETIDriver are on idle. I'm on the last WU for each one and none have transmitted since yesterday either.

All my boxes have 50 WU's cached.. I don't trust Seti.. I remember the first month I was a member you couldnt get on their site for almost a week to get units.. So now I have about 5-7 days worth of WU's cached for each box of mine.. :D :p

Well, I just reset all the Drivers on each box and it looks like that kick started them.

All have transmitted and filled their caches so it's all good now.

I'm assuming you just change the "desired cache size" in SETI Driver to whatever you want. Anyone care to confirm?

Yeh i'm having trouble getting WU's also in the last 24 hours. Seems to take minutes to connect to the server to retrieve them. ALso I've received Wu's that finished in 0 hours 0 minutes in the last 2 days maybe because i've received bad Wu's from the slow connection through them.
To the person above i use SETISTASH to store more than one WU to which i've configured mine to retrieve and transmit 10 WU"s at each session.

BTW, one of the problems with uploading & downloading in "groups" is that I have ended up with a cache-load of VLAR WUs.... took a real dive in my daily totals for a while...

I'm fine here. K6II does one every ~24 hours then immediately gets the next one. Duron every ~8 hours (if I do nothing else with the machine) then gets the next unit no problem.

Had a problem yesterday getting WUs... SETIMonitor keeps giving me stupid errors "Your spike has a power of 14! If this is constantly happening, your computer is unstable." (What!! Isn't 14 a normal spike power? I have hundereds of spikes from 5 to 20 in power....), so I installed SetiGate yesterday, and tried to get it to download WUs, but it never would. Eventually, it finally did it. Only have my cache at 3 (3 days) now, cuz I don't want to make sure it caches right before my 10th WU (which it gives credit to their team).

I've got problems as well, hope I don't lose my last WU. Oh! there it goes. Doesn't want to send me my next WU. Sigh, oh well, maybe they found ET, and don't need us anymore...

Yeah well maybe I'm not beating you. BOTH my machines are hung up on trying to upload results. I can't get through now! This is horrible. Has anyone left a message with the people in charge of the main site?

Yea this seti crud is tickin me off too :mad: :mad: just nearly took me a hour to upload 7 wu's that was on one computer now I get to upload my other 16 wu's on my other 2 computers.. This whole crud from the weekend is taking the fun out of uploading WU's Hope they get this fixed... This CRUD sux bad!!:mad: :mad:

I think they need to add 2-3 more "dedicated servers" just for recieving our wu's and uploading more to us.. The way I see it we're doing them a favor least that could do is have us happy by not having to sit by our puter all day long trying to "fish in our WU's" that's what I call it.. 1 in 100 chance it might actually go thru..

Man I wonder what's going here. I haven't had a problem since this thread started. Today I found one computer out of ten that are running that was waiting to upload 1 unit. I restarted it and it immediately uploaded without any hesitation. There have been other times when it seemed like I was the only person having connectivity problems.

Ask and you shall recieve! I use the GUI, and am currently using SETIGate to cache them. I just downloaded it a few days ago, so I don't have anything really good or bad to say about it yet.

I've also used SETIMonitor. This is my favoirite cacher. It keeps track of all the WUs you have crunched, and displays all the spikes, gaussians, triplits, and pulses on a graph based on the drift rate they were found and power (or fit...). You can have it display any of the WU results for any WU it has seen, or have it display every WU you've crunched on one graph. I really love this program.

The only bad thing about SETIMonitor is as of the last version or so, it has been giving me errors about bad data. It says stupid stuff about my spike with a power of 14 being too powerfull and having to be a computer error. If the guy who makes this fixes this, I'll delete SETIGate and get SETIMonitor working agin. I love this program too much to let it go because of a bug!!
