How do I turn hardware detection off?

Is their any way to turn auto detect new hardware off in windowsXP. It keeps finding these two devieces that arn't their any more and it's driving me nuts.
 
Check in Device Manager (open System Properties | "Hardware" tab | "Device Manager" button), and look for the two device listings which you said are no longer installed. If the devices are listed, there should be yellow exclamation points in front of them (meaning the devices in question aren't working properly, for one reason or another). You can then right click each device, and select "Uninstall"...at which point you'll need to reboot.
