Any clue how well I can OC this 1.7 Celeron that I have? I dunno if I need to tell you guys a stepping. Hell, I can't even tell which one is the stepping. Anyways, I bought the Speeze Copper HSF from newegg for socket 462 for 12+6 shipping. Looks like a nice HSF for the money.
INTEL goes by 100 (x4??) in the BIOS. AMD goes by like 200 (x2). INTEL multiplies by 4 I assume?
I have a Gigabyte 8SR-533P mobo. I got the mobo and CPU from my cousin almost for free. He thought the CPU was burnt b/c it wasn't working. He also said that after the PC stopped working he took off the stock HSF that he had and it had black guck all over it. He never got it working again, and so he bought a new mobo/cpu. I took the ones he claimed didn't work, and EVEN THO IT STILL SMELLS BURNT, I get it to post just fine.
Any help would be nice.
