I'm buying an asus video card, GF 6800, I foudn the asus v9999 gamer NON ultra version for 399, includes the cam and software bundle, 350mhz engine clock speeds
I also have the option of buying the asus v9999 gamer 6800 ultra, which is the same card only difference I can find is the 425mhz engine clock as opposed to 350, its 579...
is the 75mhz worth the extra 180 bucks? I plan to overclock, but if this card won't overclock like the ultra will, then ill go with the ultra.
http://www.pcavailable.com/web/index.aspx?pid=1786&cid=3
always in stock, and its got the blue base instead of the green (my case is gonna have a blue theme)
need input please, all the video card gurus :P
I beleive there was a big difference in the speed of the ram as well, and it might have been lower quality ram, I can't remeber off hard but a lot of people were very dissapointed by it for what it was supposed to be.

399 for a non-ultra 6800 is a ripoff. Do you live in canada?
Do you live in canada?
I'm pretty sure he is, as Master Craft is a brand name of tools sold by Canadian Tire ;)
If thats in Canadian funds it pretty good actually, refer to this site for some average prices for us Canadian's: http://www.vibecomputers.com/index.cfm?loc=hardware&if=y&mcat=03&scat=03&dcat=97

asus' 6800GT has slower 700mhz ram like on the ref. 6800, they have a 6800 with 1ghz ram like on the ref. 6800GT, go figure. if you go with Asus, get the Ultra. but do you have to go with Asus? it is the most expensive brand with no extra benefit. actually the Asus Ultra is a single slot card that uses the ref. GT heatsink design, which basically sucks. if you go any other brand Ultra, you would get the dual slot Ultra heatsink, which is pretty nice and massive. or if you choose another brand GT, like Gainward and Leadtek, they have really nice custom copper HSFs that they have on their ultras as well.

the clock speeds on the asus are the same as the other brands, I checked :/
also i wanted the single slot, I'm going water cooled so more space = good.
And no I don't live in canada, (mastercraft was an old nickname I got from playing to much starcraft :D)
but thanks for the link, good prices
edit: also the asus isn't as expensive as some of the others, the gainward and leadtek were both over 600 on newegg/pcavailable, the asus was under 580.
for the ultras that is :)
