Last night my computer was running fine and I shut it down before bed. This morning I went to shut it down &........NOTHING! No beep, no power, nothing.
I've tried everything I can think of. I tried a drifferent PSU. I tried resetting the CMOS. I tried putting in it different case (in case it was the switch.) I tried removing all peripherals. Everthing....and still nothing. The led light on the mobo still comes on, but still nothing. I put my old board and goodies back in the case and am running that now. But I need help with my new stuff.
I have the stupid free Soyo SY-P4I865PE PLus Dragon 2 v1.0, a p4 2.8c. 1gb PNPSytems pc3200 dual channel, ATI 9800np, and thermaltake 480W PSU. My first thought is the motherboard crapped out, but could it be the processor? Will board still powerup without a CPU?

Does anybody have any ideas or know what it is?

Thanks

Yeah the board will still power up without a cpu, check to see if any of the capacitors are leaking or anything around the socket area.. thats about all I could suggest atm... mainly cause its 2.45am

1) Check if the capacitors are alright.
2) Check and see if anything looks burned or smelly (in the burned way)
3) Check if you connected the power switch correctly
4) Check if you have 12V from the PSU ( the mobo led indicator needs the 5 volts, so it will still work if the 12V is dead, but the mobo won't power on.)

If everything on it looks ok, then its dead and you need to RMA.
Thats all i can suggest for your case.
