Howdy all. I have a 1.4 GHz AYHJA Y week 26 cooled by a Swiftech MC462A and a modded Lian-Li case with 125 CFM out and 105 CFM in.

Right now she's perfectly stable at 1.54 GHz @ 1.89 volts with max temp of 35 C. I tried bumping her up to 1.61 GHz and it failed to boot. I even increased core volts up to 1.92 (max for my mobo) and it failed to boot. I have an Antec PP403X so the PSU isn't the issue. And heat isn't the issue. So I'm assuming this is the CPU limit.

So my question is: Aren't these CPUs supposed to go higher then this? And if so, what could my problem be? Thanks for any input.

they aren't supposed to run any higher than 1.4ghz it's just that the majorit of people have enjoyed results of up to around 1.6ghz from them. How are you measuring cpu temp? also are you trying for that speed with the fsb or multiplyer and what fsb are you stable at?

I have teh same chip, and had the same exact prob, and the answer is very simple and bound to work, you ready, better sit down becuase it really works:

BURN IT!! :D :p :D

oh by the way, I have been burning for the past 2 days and i can easily hit 1.63 now, come to think of it i should update my sig.

luck to ya.

Not sure what FSB and multiplier you are using, but you may have hit a combination that either your KT7A or Corsair do not like. I went through two KT7A mobos before I jumped ship to IWILL. Both KT7As did weird things like that and they were from different lots. I also had some Corsair alleged PC150CL2 that got fussy on me. I don't have it anymore either. Not saying anything is wrong with yours, just trying to get you to look at other possible contributing factors.

My first AYHJA was a dog. My new AYHJA-Y week 25 booted at 1596 default voltage. Couldn't get much accomplished. Just some benchmarks, failed on the burn-in test. However, it's burning-in right now at 1596 at 1.95ish v. Maybe it's bad luck, or maybe it just needs a little more voltage nudge - after a burn-in that is?

always burn at highest voltage your cooling can take. It will go much faster and probably higher. if your cooling stays around 55C full load using a good temp monitor that voltage is fine. If it is still at aroudn 45-50 pump the voltage.

At 1.54 GHz, 1.89 volts and an ambient of 80 F the max temp is 35 C. I have been using all different combinations of FSB and multiplier. None have worked. I did burn in for a day... i'll burn it in for a couple more days and see what happens.

Thanks for the input.
