Hello there ...

in a week or 2 am going to buy a new PIII which am going to overclock with a peltier and my water cooler i was wondering which would be best to overclock a PIII 750 or an 800 or an 850 those are the ones that currently fit my budget but am asking this cause i know some cpu's overclock much better than other i know the 700 is excellent but i am trying to go around 1100 without having to raise the fsb pass 133 cause my ram is cheap generic i dont think it will take it

thanks for your time.....

anything from 600E-800E....if you look carefully there are now slot 1 800hz CDOs these will probly be awesome overclockers....the people with this stepping often get 1.2 gigahurtz out of there cellys...

is there any diffrence in overclockability between the slot1's or the FCPPGA? cause my mobbo is slot1 if i go for fcppga i will need an adaptor

fcpga is supposed to be better because the slockets normally have more voltage settings....i personally would go with a slot 1 because for me a cpu(120$)+fcpga hgeatsink(20$)+a slocket(20$) is worth a couple few mhz....of course ive never owned an fcpga or a slocket (lat socket i had was a socket 7:))

I personally have only used the slot 1 chips on ASUS P3V4X boards. I've been able to achieve 700@1022 and 800@1120 using waterblock/peltier cooling. I like slot 1's because of the way i can mount the waterblock and peltier combo using the predrilled holes throught the slot 1 chip.

last I checked the p3 700E cCO chip was the best bang for buck p3, however I'd be interested in hearing what the new cDO stepping P3's can do as well :)
