Big time.

Corair XL also uses them, I beleive OCZ Platium Rev2 uses the same.

1 gig 512 x 2 in dual channel or 4 x 256 in single channel which is slower and less effecient.

This sounds simple, but because four sticks is twice as many as two (duh), it's a whole lot of extra work for the memory controller. Plus, I can nearly guarantee that the sticks will each react differently. By this I mean you almost certainly will not receive four great overclocking sticks. Getting four sticks to play nicely together would be pretty hard.

I'd go for 2x512 as said above. More money, yes, but if you really want to see some numbers, that's the way to go.

Good luck,

Odie :)

i'm running around 260-270 fsb using tccds should have no problems with these right?

4 sticks should not OC as well, but you also get better bandwidth (I've read it's about a 10fsb difference vs 2 * 512MB modules). Huge difference in price, but if you go with the 2*512MB they will sell better later. Up to you.

They don't give the specific Kingston product code in the product description. How can you be sure that these are the KHX 3200UL models which have the TCCD chips?

Did your friend buy these specific sticks that are on sale, with the same description?

I will say that they match in the voltage and the double sided, so that is indicative of the TCCD chips. They are just so cheap compared to the usual price. The attached link is to this ram reviewed at AnandTech and which I used for the voltage and DS info. It is rare for 256 sticks to be double-sided, but these are according to the review and the product description.

Well, these are NOT TCCD based modules. Mine came in the mail today and for sure are not the new Samsung based ram.

All is not lost though, as they are new, OEM packaged, KHX PC3200 (non A) made with Winbond BH-5.

They had 140 left when I spoke to them on the phone about an hour ago. Well, make that 138. :)
