I will soon have a router for my dsl connection, that will connect both my PCs together to the same ISP. Will I be able to use S@H on both computers at the same time on the same account ?

Thanks !

Yes - I have a router and a switch and all of the machines in my signature run Seti 24/7

And will Seti run faster on DSL than on Dial-up ? Or is it just the processor that's important, not the connection ?

Thanks

The connection will only get you the WU's faster.

Processor ,mem, settings , will run SETI faster.

Are you running the screen saver or the command line client? CLC is a ton faster. Here (http://setiathome.ssl.berkeley.edu/cgi-bin/cgi?cmd=team_lookup&name=www%2Eoverclockers%2Ecom%20Seti%20Team) is our team page on the seti server your are in 625th place currently.

I am pretty limited in disk space, so does crunching take up disk space ? If so, how much ? And how can I free up the space it uses ?

CLC + Seti Spy + Seti Driver + 22 cached WU's is less than 10 meg.

i'm pretty sure with that computer i wouldn't be suprised to see 24hour completion times. try saving a few hundred bucks and moving into a new computer, help out a tons, even running the clc you'll be very slow processing a work unit.

there might be a problem with the 145 walt psu.......
it might not provide enough power for the cpu underload

Make sure you set the cache lower you will do one a day so 5-7 cached should be fine.

I just finished my first unit ! After 9 hours and 14 minutes, my P3 900 MHz crunched all that info ! I started it on that PC about 4 hours after the Compaq (in my sig), and this morning, when I woke up, one was finished, while the other was at 38%, after 14hours of crunching !

P.S.: Basher, what did you mean by :
Make sure you set the cache lower you will do one a day so 5-7 cached should be fine.
