i am using the ASUS A7V133 Raid MoBo with an AMD 1.4@1.5 GHz cpu at default voltage. Question...........my MoBo temp is at 41*c at full load while idle at 38*c. how do i drop the temp on the Mobo as i think this is effecting my CPU temp which is at 55*c at load. any ideas.
Do you have some case cooling?

yah i have 2 casing fans sucking air out. ofcourse i close the casing cause it is rather noisy. any other idea. there is a small heatsink and fan on one of the chips on the board. if i would to put some thermal greese on it then then HSF, will it help? where is the temp.sensor on the board?
It might help to add some compund inder the HS, but I think that it would help more to add a fan in the front of your case, because that will give a much airflow trough your case.

is the casing fan at the front suppose to blow air out or suck air in?

It's suppose to suck some fresh air into your case.

Suck in!!!!!!! You need a good 80mm (at least 40cfm) in to get good temps!!!
not so paradoxically, it may help to BLOCK any holes (eg. cover with a scotch tape) near the fans at the back of the case: the cool air goes into the case through the holes and out again through the fans without helping to cool the case and so decreasing the fan's efficiency. i did it only yesterday on my father's machine (a hot amd) and the case temp dropped by 3-4 degrees.
also it's a good idea to put as many cables as possible out of the way of the fresh air.
hope it helps.

thanx guys........i'll get one new casing fan tomorrow. since u guys have help me so much i'll like to add one extra point to this coolling of the casing thing. i guess most of you would have knowed about it or already doing it but if not.......try this. at the back of the casing we usually have at least 1 fan and this is used to blow hot air out of the casing right. i figured that because only so much air can be blowed out at one time so i place the fan outside the casing instead........sucking hot air out from the back. it drop the temp by about 2 - 3*C. not much but still alittle difference. try it and let me know if it is any better for u guys.......which like i've said........most of you are already doing it or found out that it does not work that well. hope this helps and thanx again.
so there is no chip on the board that needs a HSF?

i've been using MBM509 for the past 4 days and i notice that the temp. show is only a mere 42*C at load. now my question is, Sandra 2001 is showing a temp. of 53*C which my external tempreture sensor is picking up 47*C. which should i look at? i don't seem to be able to overclock my CPU any higher then 1.54GHz.........any reason for that. i'm also still at default voltage as when i increase the voltage even by 0.5 v it won't boot. i've seen people posting voltage above 2 volts but mine only reach 1.85Volts. how can i make it go higher? any softwares to do that? :confused:

You might want to consider this registry tweak, it knocked 7-10c off my temps;

I change reg # 52 to EB for cooler temp and reg # 76 to D2 for less lock ups and such. Works like a charm.

i notice that it says only for the K series which i think are Abit boards. i'm currently using the ASUS A7V 133. can i also use that program to tweak the registry? let me know cause i am seriously worried about the tempreture. thankx you
