Windows/ME start up

Hello all, Just wondering i have been having probs with apps running in the background while online gaming causing major lag and disconnection errors ,while using cable modem , what is actually needed for the start up in the misconfig menu, I was told ,Scan reg,task monitor,systemtray and both load profiles, shouldnt my norton stuff be checked also, or will this cause background lag, im wondering if Mvmax utility is causing the prob any suggestions, thanx:D

not sure what mvmax is, but norton is definitely going to cause some background activity. Disabling it may cause you to be more open to virus' if you don't remember to manually scan files, but disabling it should help a bit.

all i have is both load power profiles, and systray


never have problems.
