Check the HCL @ http://www.microsoft.com to see if the card is supported. If it is, look for different drivers. If it isn't, then I'd say that your SOL

Here's a couple of things you could check...

Check the documentation that came with your card to determine how to configure the sound card IRQ, DMA channel, and I/O addresses manually. If the card isn't configured properly, it can cause resource conflicts that may cause your PC to hang.

Have you tried the card in a different PCI slot?;)

Did you check www.creative.com for updated drivers?
I have an ensonic also, But I am using Windows Me.

Here is there driver link:
http://www.creative.com/support/files/download.asp
When you select windows 2000 & the ensonic card
DOWNLOAD THE SECOND ONE (SBAUDIOSetupus.exe) & The
win2k file that goes with it.

Besides emailing them (like I suggested last night), put a hand on each end of the card and twist until you hear cracking. Then go to compusa and buy a comparable card for $15.

You've already spent that much time on this card :).

Was the card on the HCL?

I just checked the HCL on the MSDN Windows 2000 CD that I have, and the following soundcards are listed that might be yours.

Creative Labs ES1371 (PCI)
Creative Labs ES1373 (PCI)

Check on the card and see if your numbers match up to those numbers. If they do, its a driver problem, if they don't, take Pinky's advice and twist it till you hear cracking, and get a better card @ CompUSA for 15$
