Which Athlon is better for me?
As they are both the same price.
the
Athlon 1.2 Ghz Socket A 256Kb (200 MHz FSB)
or
Athlon 1.2 Ghz Socket A 256Kb (266 MHz FSB)
I can get them multiplyer unlocked so which would be better for a little o'clocking

Thx....

Well the 266 will yield better performance, since it runs at a higher FSB. Those chips, naturally require a different motherboard than the 200Mhz FSB models.... but even those motherboards are nice and affordable now.

There is little experiance with the 1.2ghz 200 or 266FSB chips. Personaly the 1ghz 200mhz FSB chips run easier to higher MHZ than the 266mhz FSB. I hope that this little knowledge helps you. I would imagine that the 1ghz and the 1.2ghz are pretty much the same chip.

I am personally of the belief that there's no difference between a 200 and a 266 FSB chip... **IN MOST SITUATIONS** both can be unlocked and run at either combination of FSB and Multiplier (e.g. either will do 9x133 or 12x100) assuming your motherboard has the ability to run a chip at a true 133 MHz FSB.

I think the most important thing is getting a good chip stepping - AXIA-Y, AXIAR-Y or AHYJAR-Y. That way you're more likely to get a good overclock out of it.
