What's inside a thumbdrive?

What technology is being utilized inside these little things? This is the first electronic device I've owned that could survive multiple trips through the washing machine, and still work perfectly!

I'd assume that as long as you got a memory stick wet, and you didn't run it till it was dry, it would be fine. I've heard of people running hot water over vidcards before. They just let them dry for several hours.

they use similar technology to flash cards, non volatile mem and a control chip. not much to them really

ive put mine through the wash a couple of times too, never done it any harm.

They should make some based off the Smart Media/xD cards. Then I can drive nails through them for #@&$ and giggles.
