Is it safe to Connect all my devices with one PSU Connector?

Hello Everyone

Just have a quick question?

Is it bad to connect all my devices such as a CD-RW, Hard Drive, and DVD, Drive all with one power connection from the PSU. What I mean is Im using those two end power connectors and hooking all of them together so in the end i only use on PSU wire, I m trying to keep my case really neat.

Also my PSU is a Thermaltake 480W ButterFly.

welcome to the forums.

why don't you just use the other cables as well? your still gonna have just as many individual wires going around your case if you use the Y cables anyways. afterall, everything does have to connected.

I'm gonna say no seeing it is going to draw all its power from a single rail, that could be sorta dangerous especially if the all draw at the same time, could cuase a massive drop in that voltage on that rail.

Wrong. The rails are 3.3, 5, and 12. What it would do is create all of the power draw from one wire though, and through that single molex (if you use Y-splitters like you are implying), which have a crap load of resistance, so that single molex might get a little warm. I personally have my 2 hard drives, floppy, and case fan on one wire, but it has 3 molexes and a floppy.

Right,and also if one of the molex connecters get loose(My NB fan goes on and off sometimes),you could lose power to several devices instead of one or two.

me too have Tt 480W, but i distribute all wires/molex so that all fans goes to the some wires, and two wires left is for the hd and optikal drive. (there's three wires molex connector from psu, @ each 3 molex. so 3x3=9 molex, + 2 sata power connector).
