system shock 2, was the best horror game ever, and is on my top 5 list of fav games.

yes free, full ver of the game SS2, plus update the textures with the mod and your good to go.

tip: if you have 4.1 sound, don't play with the lights out and all by yourself... :eek:

I haven't played this game, and ive heard so much about it.

What's it similar to? Half Life? Deus Ex??

It's like an FPS RPG hybrid. Sort of Deus Ex but is horror oriented. I played the demo when it first came out but never got around to the real game. I just remember a big asteroid coming towards the spaceship window where I was standing at. :eek:

OMG W00T I LOVED SS2 AND NOW A SEQUAL

seriouly i am soooo stoked. very Very VEry VERy VERY happy to see. Wow finnaly, i love SS2 it is one of the few games that never leaves my HD.

just be sure to only do one at a time, as their servers will temp ban your ip for multiple downloads. However it does sound like you've noticed the restriction. So I'll leave it as a warning to others.

(the site used to be slower that all sin, and its gotten infinatnly better with these restrictions)

Another game worth the download for anyone that enjoyed Halo or is a Bungie fan would be Marathon 2: Durandal which is also available on the site. The series is Bungies precurser to the Halo universe and the story closly intertwins with Halo itself.

yea ive seen plans for doom 3 but projects like that never get finished so i wouldnt count on ever playing a decent build of it. I cant even find the website that originally planed it now.

And just so you know, the producers of SS2 have stated publically that it is NOT Abandonware, contrary to what is posted on the net. There was a big SS2 forum where it was discussed, along with the Cease and Desist order.

And just so you know, the producers of SS2 have stated publically that it is NOT Abandonware, contrary to what is posted on the net. There was a big SS2 forum where it was discussed, along with the Cease and Desist order.

If a dev is going to be like that, then Im not buying the game.

i doubt the dev had anything to say in that decision, seeing as how A) looking glass studios is no more and B) it is the publisher that holds all the marketing say generally, most likly it was the publisher.

I didn't like Deus Ex 2, what little i played in the demo either.

im confused did you play the first one, or just the second one, because you really should play the first if you havnt, it was awsome, at least in my opinion. Please dont judge the Deus Ex franchise soley on DX2 alone.

I downloaded SS2 and I get an error as soon as the first video stops, something about false video memory.

Last time I installed it it kept crashing when trying to load the first level. How do you get it to run on XP?

Well it works whenever I start a new game but when I got to load a saved game it comes up with a *Your D3D card is not acuratly reporting memory usage* error. Seriusly are their any XP compatibility patches out their? from what little I did get to play I like it alot.

I've said system shock 2 is one of th ebest games a number of times in this forum, but why not share one more time. SS2 is one of my fav 5 all time games. You guys are right on the money when you say this game could scare the crap out of you. I played it with headphones and can't count the number of times the hair on my arm would stand up.

ONE OF THE BEST GAMES EVER.......PERIOD
