Hey guys, I need some advice on what case to get. I'm building an AMD DDR system and need a case thats big enough to possibly host a watercooling setup, and I'm for sure gonna need a case thats easy to modify. I want to install a bunch of fans, and a window kit, as well as blacklights. I need something with a good psu, 300W+ preferably. Thanks a bunch.

honestly, if you are going to mod the case that much just do what i do, i just buy a generic full tower case from a local computer vendor, they are about 30-40% if the price of a normal fulltower case, plus, do you really want to pay 200 bucks plus shipping to get a case that you are going to be tearing apart 5 mins after you get it

This Atop AT900 Case is an excellend deal, It comes with a free laser cut side fan and they make them themselves and resell them to OEM dealers, at $59 it pays to buy from the manufacturer.

I bought one a short time back and its an excellent case. only downside is the PSU it ships with at 250 watts. The case is screwless and doesnt have sharp edges.

The dimensions are 21" H x 7.5" W x 17" D and it has plenty of room for expansion.

Alpthough the buy link doesnt show a pic of the side fan it IS included

This is the case I got. It costs only $40, and it has a huge amount of space. The wheels are a nice touch too. :)

I'll be impressed with so-called "hydrolics" when it has a pump and can move the cover up aswell.

I've heard nothing but good about Lian-Li cases. But they are pricy.

They can only go down, you must pull it UP,
Or you may be able to modefy it with an electric Motor!
Hey It would be neat wouldn't it?

Those kind of cases are best for unmodified systems. If you're gonna hack up a case, it's almost a waste of money to take a Dremel to one of those.

Why would it be a waste?

In regards to an e-mail requesting a picture of the full case.

You should look into antec cases, they have greatfan positions and are VERY sturdy. Plus it has looks of perks. microbarn.com has them in stock.

I have never purchased an antec but they look good, A little
expensive in my opinion.

Do you have one CSaddict? Can U post pics if you do?

This is the case I have, comes with a 300W PSU, and the only problem I have with it, is that I had to go out and get a longer floppy cable. Other than that, it's a nice case, lots of room, removeable MB tray, yadda, yadda, yadda.

Two of my brothers have this case, and it's pretty much the same deal.

But, shop around, see what's out there.

Problem with those Hydraulic cases is that when the 'door' is down it restricts airflow from the front fan(s)

I had one a while back and decided not to keep it.

thebzkt, The $10,000 dollar question is how much vertical room do you have to work with? If the Case is going under a desk then you can pretty much rule out a traditional full tower case that is typicly 24" or more

I don't notice any difference when the cover is down.
It is curved out to solve that problom.

As far as going under the desk I havent seen any probs with the mid. The full fitts under mine with about 3/4" - 1 1/4" to spare.
Check the specs in my posts above, they should fit.

Thanks for your help guys, it looks like I'm going to go with the AT901.
http://www.pccase.com/products/AT901.html
It looks like its roomy enough for me, yet not quite as big as most full towers, and the price is right 69$!

Thanks for all the help.

THe chenbro Genie Junior is an excellent case in my opinion. I picked up mine from coolcases.com and have to say that I love it. It is pre fabbed for 120MM intake and exhaust fans and is easy to modify and to get in and out of. Check out 2coolteks case mods and you will see the case.

Man there are a lot of cases that fit the bill.

I have a buddy that just recently purchased an Antec Full Tower case and it is sweet. Very mod friendly. The bonus is that Antec makes great power supplies. :D

Oh, and the price is right too.

If you didn't intend to do a lot of modding I'd say go for the Supermicro Full Tower Server case.
