I have a regular length movie in .avi, going to encode it into NTSC format for DVDs - until I look at it's length.

Really can't figure it out, doesn't look like that long of a movie....

Exactly.

Why is my question to you all. It's an avi file, 2 hours in length, 700MBs in size.

Should only _be_ 120 minutes, but in this encoder program it comes up at 400+ minutes (wow, that's 8 hours or so).
 
There may be a bad frame in the AVI file which makes it read as a longer time. Try running it and see if it is ok. I have had a few files like that, but after I ran them, they were of normal size.
