I wasn't for sure which distributed computing project I would pick now that I have broadband, but after seeing that the results of folding are open source I decided that folding was for me.
Is roughly eleven hours for 5 work units decent for a Duron 943 (6.5 *145)? I plan to upgrade to a Athlon 1.4 in the next week or so and how big of a difference would that make in the times?
Is there anyway to make the console version run as a system tray icon?
Thanks,
Josh

Welcome to the Team Josh! Your times sound good for your Duron. The longer 5pt Work Units (WU's) take a little longer. Some also take less time to fold but give you less points.
To run the client in the system tray you need to download a program called Electron Microscope. You can find the link to EM here (http://www.overclockers.ws/folding/links.html) along with a lot of other cool info.
Welcome again! Fold On!

Thanks for joining the team! I too feel that this is a worthwhile project.

I went from a Duron 700@1007MHz to a T-Bird 1200@1470MHz, and I was amazed how big a differ there was. Under 2 min.s per frame on a 5point WU. That's how we like it! :)
Welcome to your team, enjoy! :)

Hey Josh
Welcome to the team. You'll definitely notice the diff. in times between the Duron and the Tbird.
