I can't remember who it was, but I think someone posted not so long ago asking about the official MTBF (Mean Time Before Failure) of AMD cpus. I couldn't find a definite answer anywhere, not on any websites or any of the AMD techdocs, so I emailed them. Here's the reply I got:
Dear Rob
thank you for your email. Sorry for the delay in answering your email. The rated lifetime of our processors is something between 5 and 10 years. Unfortunately it is not written in any document you can find on our website. Information like this is under NDA. Thank you for your understanding. For further questions please do not hesitate to contact us again.

So that's why no-one seems to know - the information's under NDA (Non-Disclosure Agreement I think). Still, if it's between 5 and 10 years, even being pessimistic and taking 6 yrs for the MTBF, if ocing reduces the lifespan by half that's still 3 yrs - and the longest I've ever had a cpu for is about 10 months before upgrading, so that's fine by me ;)
