Im planning on buying a new psu i currently have the cheap generic one my case came with its a 350watt eagle ive heard how flaky this make is and i decided it was time to get a reliable one.

Here are some i found earlier:

Qtec 650watt 3 fan (http://www.qtec.info/products/product.htm?artnr=14103)

Enermax Noisetaker 425 watt (http://www.overclockers.co.uk/acatalog/Online_Catalogue_Enermax_111.html) (near bottom of page)

One of these clear modded psus (http://www.x-case.co.uk/acatalog/400_Watt_Clear_Gaming_Psu_.html) (not sure if these are reliable seem good)

And could someone please explain to me about a psus rails recently in some threads ive seen people talking about different rails like 12v and 4v or something like dat could someone explain or point me towards a thread clearing up this information

I'd probably go look for an Antec NeoPower 550/480w.

different rails power different components in a system. currently, most power supplies have enough power on the +3.3v/5v rails but the +12v rail is constantly being taxed, with high power CPU's/video cards/hard drives taking up the bulk of the usage.

In short, anything more than +/- 5% deviance is not good. But always test with a digital multimeter, don't trust software solely.

I use Antec SL400 and I like it. The Antec TruePower 430 is supposed to be better than my SL400, but I have not tried it. You should read Larva's sticky here:

It's long but very informative

you can get a fortron and put one of these (http://www.svc.com/powersupply-power-supply-mods.html) on it then that would be nice and modded plus be a good psu

stay away from those psus, get a good quality, name branded one. some good suggestions are fortron, antec, and pc power & cooling. stay with those, and you should be fine, trust us, we've experimented.

Don't buy a Q-tec because even their 550W model is built like a 200W PSU.

Be careful about buying clear modded PSUs because any modding will void the safety certifications, and all modders seem to use highly flammable plastic. The only exception I know of are Aspire (Topower?) PSUs with clear covers, but they're not modded, and Aspire claims that the plastic is fire-resistant. It seems that the clear PSUs in your link are Aspires (I noticed the green heatsinks).

Of the choices you listed, the best is Enermax, but other brands are better, like Fortron/Sparkle, which also may also be cheaper.
