Some one told me to reverse the fan on the heatsink so the air would be blowing on the core of the cpu, instead of sucking air.Can this be done without blowing a processer? IS this guy insane or is this true? If you can reverse it how much temperature difference would I see? Thanks

Hi diurnal, wellcome to the Forum,
Yes it's true, the best way is test all the configuration of the fan on the HeatSink, sucking or blowing, but it's impossible to know how many degree of difference you can found.
I suggest you to install MotherBoardMonitor to check your system temps http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ it's a must.

I hope it helps you ;)

diurnal,

Generaly the rule is if the heatsink has a Shroud you should suck, and if thier's no shroud it should blow. Now maybe your asking whats a shroud, ok most Alpha heatsinks have a shroud like this

Now if you have a heatsink with a shroud test the temps both ways with the fan sucking or Blowing to determine which is best for you. You can check your temps using Motherboard Monitor (http://mbm.livewiredev.com/) or in you bios/
