Anyone have any experience with them? Do those rebates actually work? Anyone ever gotten their Fry's rebate back?

Fry's, I used to try, now I don't even bother. If they have something that is a GREAT buy, without the rebate, I MIGHT try it, but most of the time I end up returning, since the item is been returned and is still broken.

Outpost, I have only bought one item, and they sent the wrong one. (Well, advertised the wrong one!!)

Most of the times you are not dealing with Fry's as far as receiving a rebate. When you get your rebate check they are not from Fry's, they are from the manufacturer themselves. I usually get rebates in 4-6 weeks, only once I waited on a rebate from Belkin (power strip) for about 10 weeks. Its' the people that don't fill them out that they are counting on. I say keep not filling them out, because this provides the incentives for companies to infact offer the prices with rebates, again hoping that people won't follow through. Frankly I find alot of items on sale that don't require the rebates but rather get an in store rebate. If you can deal with giving up the dough in the front end, you will always get your money eventually, you just have to be patient and forget about it. Then in the mail one day when you don't expect it..wallah, some extra dough

This is, in the main, correct. EXCEPT when you are dealing with Fry's shady rebate practices. They have a nasty habit of giving you a copy of the rebate form, and altering it to incorrectly state the valid dates of the real rebate. Means even if you get the rebate in, just as soon as you buy it, you are a week late. Fry's has done this so much, that people have been talking about it for years, Do a Google search of "Fry's,"and see what turns up.
