As you can see in my signature I have an Athlon 64 system in the works. At the moment the RAM in my sig is only a placeholder/option.
(Here on Newegg)

So unless I can find another deal that would work well with my MOBO and CPU setup, this is probably what I will stick with.

PS: This site has been incredibly helpful!

(EDIT: The RAM also fits nicely inside my budget :) )

That is some good RAM, a bit expensive, but very good stuff. I've got 2 gigs of it and its great; fast and overclockable.

So it is good overclockable RAM... (I'm guessing on your P4 rig) but does anyone have an idea about how it will OC with my A64?
Is there a better alternative?

well, the ram you linked to, is TCCD based, which usually workes good with a64's, but it seems that maybe this particular ram doesnt always do as good as some of the other TCCD's

i know you mentioned that the ram would need to fit into your budged, and i know this is sorta expencive, but i think it woudl do nicely

Awesome, thanks a lot for the info.

After reading that review, and your recommendation, I'll go ahead with 512 pqi. I don't think I will suffer(too much) without an entire gig. For now I think this should do.

yeah, you shouldnt suffer TOO bad, but, honestly, if your a serious gamer, sonsider getting another 512mb stick to make you a gig later, a gig usually helps a lot, for real life game play.

I guess I'm a somewhat conservative gamer...

In the end I'll have spent $809 on this rig :)

(HD was a present, everything else I just got a good deal on. cept the MOBO which was kind of an impulse thing)
