Alright guys. I came here because I figured someone here might know how to help me out. I went through some articles and read some discussion in the forums and decided to join up.

Here is the problem: I am running a Dell Dimension 8100 with a P4 1.7ghz CPU. The problem with the Dell is that it uses a Pheonix BIOS that won't allow me to change the Front Side Bus Speed. Is there anyway to get around this? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

You have no idea what you have done. There is no way in this world that a person can ensure that he/she will not possibly be able to overclock a pc than buying a Dell. Outside of buying one made by Intel that is.

Dell and Intel are like Mutt and Jeff, Frick and frack Beany and Cecily. Do you get the picture? Dell P4's use the Intel GB850 motherboard done over in their flavor. They would not dare make that thing overclockable.

Look up Dell in the dictionary and it says: see nonoverclockable.

Try changing the mother board, that way, if you do want to overclock it, you have solved the BIOS problem. Plus you can keep all teh other components so not much goes to waste.....
