Im using the drivers that came with my 9800 pro. Right now counter strike source is playing about the same it seems as my old card, a ti4200. How much better could newer drivers be?

It all depends, but they should improve performance.

If you set the video quality to a similar setting as the 4200 was getting, you should get far better frames.

Did you format? You probably should if you haven't.

And if you don't feel like formatting (I know I wouldn't :D) running a driver cleaner (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3214.html) to clear off any and all trace of nVidia off your system is highly reccomended.

Upgrading the drivers should provide you with some performance increase too. The ones that come on the CD usually aren't even close to the latest ones, and are usually quite a bit slower than the best ones.
