I have this old BX board (BH6) and it only supports a pci divider of 1/3... if i set the fsb to 133 the pci bus speed it way outta wack and kills the data on my hdd and everything just goes screwy... 124 sets the bus speed on the pci to ~41 and the AGP to ~83.... will this be enough to fry my stuff? I've seen people running their system at 133 on an old bx board (don't know how they can pull it off though) i think 112 is pretty safe the pci speed is a reasonable 37 mhz and the AGP speed is 75.... what I'm asking is do you think either 124 or 112 are safe options to use, or should i just stick with it at a safe 100? i have a 1ghz p3 and I can't get it to 1ghz till i get a new board and i'm just wanting to get it as fast as i can w/o hurting anything cause i'm not sure how long it'll be till i get that board... so how do you feel about 124 and 112?

-BTW here are the contents of my system
A-bit BH6
P3 1ghz underclocked to 750
256mb crucial pc133
WD 10 gb 7200rpm udma 66 HDD
Hercules Kyro II
1 3com NIC
1 Kingston NIC
Aureal Vortex 2
Generic 36x CD-ROM

It depends on yer other hardware. If the only prob is the hd, then I would say 112 FSB would be fine and 124 is a .....maybe. I'm running @ 124 FSB with no probs on my BX6r2, but like I said... some hardware will hack it and some won't. If ya got a spare drive around, ghost yer current drive and try. The worst I've ever had happen is have to wipe'er and start over :D

Those 'older' BX boards probably have a 1/4 PCI divider like mine has. Did you try to find out if there's a BIOS update for your mobo that can get you that? (although I dunno if that would be possible with a BIOS update, but you never know!)

Seems they've quit releasing any new bios for our old boards. The last bios update for the BX6r2 was like May of 2000. The updates leading to and including that one simply added support for different procs, no new features, nada :(
