hi all,

iam looking for a decent laptop for great price (poor college student ya know :) )

I just saw one for $687 @brandsmart

Compaq 14.1"
Celeron 2.8ghz (not Celeron M)
192MB RAM
30gb hdd
winxp

the price seems good but not sure if the specs would fulfill my needs since it is only 192mb of RAM . I use a lot of ViSio + msoffice at same time.

If anyone know a better deal (~$1,000 budget) please let me know .
and I prefer 512MB of RAM.

Or try Wal-Mart (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?product_id=3202221&cat=3951&type=19&dept=3944&path=0%3A3944%3A3951) . It only has 128 RAM but you could get another 128 stick for cheap.
