Mmmmmm, may eliminate the noise, but I really dont know how good that will be for the cooling. That may mean a LOT less CFM's. I suggest getting a new fan itself

Most fans have an odd number of blades. This means that no blade is exactly opposite to another. Sorry that you lost a blade! It would be best to replace the damaged fan.

I'd suggest getting a new fan. You could easily overcompensate when trimming and end up with it unbalanced in the opposite direction.

replace it. Even if you have an even number, something is bound to go wrong. If you have an odd number, believe me removing one "opposite" it is going to cause the thing to vibrate a whole lot. I did this to a blorb fan, and it was vibrating. Luckily, i had a Chrome Orb to put in the blorb.

definatly buy a new fan, removing another blade will just make the fan more unstableand it is not like they are extremely expensive either

Maybe the extra bottom fan is, but not the one that goes in the standard location. It wouldn't fit in either an AT or ATX PSU. What he said. An ATX power supply is barely tall enough to hold the 80mm exhaust fan that gets installed in the back of it.

However, there are some with bottom-mounted fans. Perhaps you have one of those.

If its CPU fan ditch it!!!
The vibration will hurt the cooling and the chip. I tried to super-glue a blad once for the fun if it, at 5000 RPM + it was a nasty buz.
