Hello,
I am trying to fix a friends hard drive and have it hooked into my computer. It is so virus ridden when it boots it hangs forever. Anyways she has a ton of stuff she wants saved so I thought maybe I can save it. I am using housecall. The problem is that it wont let me delete files because they are being used. Is there a way to access task manager from my drive on her drive? Also can I boot into safe mode with system restore off on her drive? Thanks guys!

sounds to me like the viruses have started to creep onto your computer. any way this handy little program will tell you what processes is using the file and lets you kill it if need be.

hope that helps
