Need help, I'm running a CUSL2 with a P3 800 (100 mhz )

The first time it boots, It runs @ 802 mhz and if I restart It
runs at the full 960 mhz. This happens every time I turn on the computer,

Has anybody else had this problem ?????

Yes its your baord.
Most people who overclock use the non offical bios as it cures alot of the problems.
You can get it here if you want but its not a offical bios.

Fixed it, I updated my bios to ASUS ver 1.009 and it boots overclocked first time, I tried using the tweaked bios but the
update program just tries to connect to the inet and wont let me specify the tweaked file

Anyway thanks for the tip

Hi catkins99, wellcome to the Forum,
If your chip temps are around 40-45 degree C @full load (100% load) is better to go with a Fsb at 133Mhz for 1066Mhz but probably you need to rise a little the Vcore (the chip Voltage).
Try MotherBoardMonitor to check your system temps http://mbm.livewiredev.com/ is a must!

I hope it helps you ;)

I have played with the voltage/FSB, the fastest I can get is 976 mhz (122/122/40) @1.8v

I just tried 133/133/33 @ 1.80/1.85/1.90/1.95 V and no post
I'm scared to go any higher on the voltage.

My bios says that my CPU is 40 deg. SiSoft and ASUS probe both say that it is 25-28 deg

I would love to get 1066 out of her, any suggestions would be much appreciated. (I am currently downloading MotherboardMoniter.)

My Sys:

P3 800E ( Cco i think )
512 MB pc133 micron
CUSL2 (1.009 bios)
memory settings 3 cas, 2 ras to cas delay, 2 ras precharge
7T,9T
GF2 32mb Video
SB live
CD ROM, CDRW
USR 56k
ect.

Have you tryed with the more conservative mem settings (Cas3-3-3) using only a mem module? sometimes can help, what kind of cooler are you using?

Its a PAL 6035 with YS Tech fan
i'll play with the mem settings, but I need the ram for the CAD software that I run

Don't worry, it's just to understand if a mem prob or not coz it's really strange, your temps are really googd, the chip generally works @133Mhz of Fsb or more without any kind of probs so the mem modules are the way to check ;)
