Hi I have a problem.

Purchased today, a shuttle SB75G2 (875 chipset) and Celeron D 3ghz CPU.

Put them in with the supplied Thermal compound and i have a problem.

I boot up (with case closed or open with HDD's removed), and I have about 20sec before it turns off.

I manage to get into the bios and I see that the CPU temp is at 92c, and goes up about 1c every 3 sec, and then turns off.

Does anyone know what the fudge is going on? A quick google didnt return any answers..

Make sure that the heatsink is attached to the CPU properly. In this case it seems like it isn't touching the CPU properly causing the overheats.

PROBLEM SOLVED.

I had already checked twice that there was a good interface between the HS and CPU, but it seems my heat pipe is bent a bit.

The fan cage that bolts to the MB was pulling the Heat pipe radiator part towards the back of the case when I screwed it in. This in turn pulled the Heat sink up on a angle off the CPU.

Booting without bolting the fan cage on found that out. then bending the HS a bit solved it completely :)

Cheers guys.

I am stupid for this thread.
