How much would using Artic Silver II over the thermal pad that comes with the SK-6 or any other HSF help....
I'm trying to decide if 7 or 8 bucks for a tube of that stuff is worth it.
Also anyone having problems installing the Sk-6??
I read a review and the guy had some gripes about it.
Stuff like the clip wasn't very good. And that it could cause the HSF to shift.
No problems here with the sk6.
From what I gather artic silver usually lowers temps 2-3c.

ooo you got pretty blue stars :)
hehehe sorry, been working on a roof for like a week..
I've had WAY TO MUCH sun lately :)
Thanks for the reply..
2-3c's is that worth the 7 or 8 bucks??
Maybe try without first? And then if the temps seem alittle high then go with the AS2?? I see how 47c would sound better then 50c... but if it was down to like 42c and lower it to 39c
42c is decent isn't it?
Yes 42c at full load is a good temp.
Its just a hassle to remove and redo the heatsink and there is always that chance of cracking the cpu core or slipping and scratching a motherboard trace.
I would say its worth it beacuse there is enough of it that you wont need to buy anymore for quite along time and the sk6 does not come with the thermal pad on it and once you put it on you will have scrape it off and then the residue will probably make the AS2 less effective if you decide to switch.

I used AS2 on my gladiator hsf and it lowered temps about 5 C...definitely worth the $ IMO
