Will a AGP 8x GeForce Card work ok on a 4x motherboard?

I'd just like to know will I have any problems running a 8X AGP geforce video card on a 4X AGP motherboard?

Unless it is 4x compatible, no.

That looks like it will work, but I would call to make sure. Normally the card would say 4x/8x, mine even says 2x/4x/8x

According to that, it should work.

It would be very dumb to only make a card that is 8x compatible, that would lose alot of sells.

It will work, I had a Ti4200 X8 on a AGP X4 board and it worked perfectly.

It's better to know for sure, that way you don't have any problems with sending it back if it doesn't.

Just downloaded a 8x AGP manual. It states that any nvidia 8x card is backwards compatible!

AGP 8x Tech Brief is what you will be choosing.

Any 8x card will work in any 4x slot. They are completely compatible except for transfer rates.

AGP 2x/4x/8x are ALL inter-compatible. The only thing that wouldn't work, is sticking an AGP 1x card into an 8x mobo, or an agp 2/4/8 card into a 1x only mobo.
