Which of these two cards would be better? I got an offer to trade my voodoo 5 5500 for the radeon.

i agree...i LOVE my radeon...i don't know what i would do without it, the picture is SOOOO clear...may not be as fast as a GeForce, but as is life, what you get in clarity will more than make up for speed...and the speed difference is unnoticable in games

The Radeon is both faster and has better image quality.

Hey Valid, I got mine for 50

Okay so it seems as though the radeon is a better card. I was thinking about it, but now I believe I will do it. Does anyone else have any other opinions?

depends on what you want if you wants benchmarks get the gf2pro if you want to get a good all around card get a radeon...

I can't decide. The hercules is faster and has tv-out but the radeon is, like you said, a very good all around card.

I guess the post is now Readeon vS. geforce 2 pro

Though I love my Radeon, I'd probably get the GF2pro in that deal.

You could probably sell it for alot more than a 32mb DDR Radeon if you ever want to get rid of it.

That's my reasoning too, I am negotiating the deal as we speak.

He says he's got it clocked at 250/500

I would grab that GF2 b4 he changes his mind. The Radeon is a great card but you also have to condider driver support. Drivers make or break a video card and NVidia is by far the winner here. Plus if you decide to try another OS such as Linux you will be glad you have a card that offers 3d support and games great.

I have closed the deal and we are sending each other the cards using next day delivery so I should have it tomorrow or the next day. I don't think he will change his mind. He realizes he is giving me a much better card than my voodoo

It depends on what memory is on the card. My GF2 Ultra runs smooth at 270/500 and has been at that speed for almost a year now.

The memory is 5ns so that's pretty good.

He said he was at work and while he was chatting he was talking to his wife getting her to check for me bacause I wanted to know the mem clock and core clock. I never said I belived him. If anything it's still worth more than my voodoo 5 5500

he might be bsing getting five ns memory to 500 my geforce 2 pro memory starts crapping out at 455 and thats 5 ns a geforce 2 ultra is a whole different animal it has 4 ns ram
